Letter from Hugh Pagan, in typescript, two pages on two folios (recto only), dated 19 September 2001, concerning the authenticity of a [gold?] Coenwulf coin that had recently come to light [in Biggleswade, Bedforshire] and the contrasting reasons for and implications of it being either genuine or a forgery. The letter is addressed to Stewart Lyon but carries the note that it is being copied to [Mrs] May [Sinclair, of Spink] and Ian [Stewart].
