Letter from Ernesto Bernareggi with reply from Ian Stewart:
(a) Letter from Ernesto Bernareggi, in typescript, single page, dated 10 January 1981, sending his best wishes [for the new year] to IS but indicating that he has not had any news about the publication in honour of Professor Grierson, to which he has contributed an article. He therefore asks to be kept informed, noting that, if it becomes impossible to realise the book, he wishes to know so that he may make alternative arrangements for the publication of his contribution.
(b) Carbon copy of Ian Stewart's reply, in typescript, single page, dated 20 January 1921, thanking EB for his letter and apologising that has not heard anything further about the Grierson Festschrift. He notes that the volume "is now with the publishers and is going through final corrections. He is sorry about the amount of time it has taken but acknowledges that "difficulties arose in making satisfactory translations of some of the papers". The problems have now been resolved, he states, and no further delays are anticipated.
