Scope and content
Letter from E. Sparke to William French, 8th March 1849. Written from Ely. Sends him the design for the floor of Bishop Alcock's Chapel at Ely Cathedral. Mr. Scott forwarded it to him. He has shown it to Mr. Fowler, Dr. Hill and the vice Dean who approve of it. Assumes the cock will be on a globe and not as depicted in the rough sketch. If French and the Fellows approve, could they send it back to Scott. Miss Clough has given Sparke a cheque to commission some painted glass to honour her aunt Mrs A. Waddington's mother. A subscription for a Masters of Arts and BD window has been started so please ask his friends with those qualifications to support it. Hopes the noblemen and prelates window will succeed. R. Evans hopes Cowpley will call upon him. Mrs. G. Sparke sends her regards to Mrs. French and the Misses French.
