Scope and content
Written from College, Ely. Sorry to hear of French's health but hope's he'll be able to travel to Yorkshire soon for more bracing air. Sparke and his wife went to Yarmouth for a while for their little girls' health and the sea air did her much good. Sparke will remain in Ely until September so French need not worry about the Cathedral being neglected. Sorry that Mr. Robert Evans has received an indifferent report on his father's health. Perhaps the heat near Bath is over powering. Contractors have commenced work at Cresswells and Roswell Hill although only 87 men are at work. Possibly something to do with building the railway. Sparke's brother returned to Gunthorpe having had a fully engaged time in Cambridge in hearing the proceeding relating to the Hem (?) altar which his assessor Dr. Danbury gave in favour of theh Camdinians. Mr. Faulkner has given notice of appeal.
