Letter from Andrew Oddy, in typescript, single page, dated 4 March 1977, thanking IS for his letter of 28 February and copy of the analytical appendix to his paper on Anglo-Saxon gold coins. He comments that x-ray fluorescence must be referred to as such and not as spectrometric analysis or as x-ray spectrometry, and that the appropriate abbreviation for x-ray fluorescence is XRF and not XRS. He further states that the appropriate abbreviation for specific gravity is SG, in upper case letters.
