King Malcolm of Scotland confirms his earlier grant to the nuns of St Mary and St Radegund of 10 acres of land at Grenecroft, and frees the nuns from having to pay the 2 shillings rent on this land. Malcolm IV (1141-1165) King of ScotlandConsists of typescript drafts of an unpublished book by Bronowski, on Alexander Pope and William Blake [a precursor to 'William Blake, A Man Without a Mask'].
Also includes a notice of a meeting of the Royal Society of Literature at which Bronowski was to give a paper on 'The Satires of Alexander Pope' (21 May 1959), with notes by Bronowski made for the meeting.

Comprises: reprints of articles by Sebeok about animal communication, with an envelope listing one of the articles; and a letter from Sebeok (Research Center in Anthropology, Folklore and Linguistics, Indiana University) sending Bronowski a reading list on animal communication (included) and referring to a seminar he had given at the Salk Institute.
Two of the reprints were sent to Bronowski by the author and annotated as such. The reading list is annotated with possible sources for the books.
Comprises a list of Bronowski's publications with correspondence between Kathleen Murray (secretary) and Professor Thomas Sebeok (Research Center for the Language Sciences, Indiana University) regarding sending Sebeok copies of Bronowski's publications.
Comprises correspondence, mainly with Professor Thomas A Sebeok (Indiana University and editor of 'Current Trends in Linguistics' vol. 12), relating to Bronowski contributing an essay on 'The Biological Foundations of Language' to volume 12 of 'Current Trends in Linguistics'. Publication was delayed by illnesses of Bronowski and Sebeok, and the title of Bronowski's chapter was changed to 'Language in a Biological Frame'.
Also includes a letter requesting permission from Sebeok to reprint Bronowski's article (1975), a copy of a page of notes by Bronowski on "the characterization of human language" (10 Feb 1972), and an annotated proof copy of 'Language in a Biological Frame'.
