Meeting minutes.

A note at the front of the volume states that it replaced one in use since the reinstatement of the club in 1919. It contains minutes of meetings with a few loose papers and some photographs.

Includes menus with some events with table plans and lists of attendees. From the 1970s onwards, some of the events were held at the Mansion House in the City of London, possibly in connection with the Jesuans who became Lord Mayor. Typescript ' Conclusions' of Society meetings, so called to 7 Mar. 1950, thereafter 'Minutes' (but with no change in their summary style). The meetings were held a few times a year, at irregular intervals depending on the nature of business demanding attention

Flyleaf has title: "Collectanea ad procancellarii officium spectantia. An. 1702. C. A.". It contains a copy of the University's statutes of 1570, wth annotations by the transcriber, Dr Charles Ashton (Master 1701-52). JCGB/5/1/2 is a companion volume.

The first systematic survey of the condition of the college buildings, "Prepared for the Master and Fellows of Jesus College by Donald W. Insall & Associates Ltd., Chartered Architects and Planning Consultants, in association with Davis, Belfield and Everest, Chartered Quantity Surveyors and Hannah, Reed and Associates, Consulting Civil and Structural Engineers."

Account book containing: account for the erection of the Waterhouse Building; provision for meeting the expenditure, 1869-71; plan for repayment of the Rustat Bursar; details of rebuilding of the chimnies by M. Rickman, with raising of plinth; accounts for funding alterations to the Hall ("etc."), 1875; details of purchase and installation of organ at the West end of the Chapel, 1887-90, with later note by Arthur Gray; accounts for the Waterhouse Building and Building Fund; details of the erection of two houses [North House and East House] and the formation of Chapel Court, 1882-85; details of new windows and repairs to "Old Wing", and connection to Cloister Court; alterations to offices and W.C. block; accounts for repair and decoration of the Master's Lodge, 1885.

Book containing minutes from 5 Nov. 1908 onwards. At the front is an elaborate coloured title page and list of members; then two pages have been cut out - presumably they were pages containing earlier minutes. After the series of minutes is a list of past and present members on active service, 1914. At the end of the volume are subscription records for 1909-14.

Letter referring to the lease of 12, 13 and 14 Manor Street and 83 King Street

A register of copies of College leases, begun c. 1580 but including copies of earlier documents from 1543 onwards; the latest comes from 1618. The first section is a contents list, in a contemporary hand but with a single leaf added later (said to be in the hand of Charles Ashton, Master 1701-52). This list refers to an original foliation in which the transcriptions begin at f. 20. The first item transcribed is "an Acte for the mayntenanceof the Colledges in both the Universities ...", 18 Eliz. cap. 6; the rest are all property deeds, mostly leases. On the front flyleaf are some rough notes and a signed statement that this book was produced in a court case in 1682. At the end of the book are: "A note of the greivances done by Mr Dalton to the Colledge" (f. 330); a single-page account of the College's benefactors [post 1619] (f. 335v); a list of benefices in the College's gift (f. 336); a list of evidences compiled c. 1600, in effect the earliest known catalogue of College deeds, "in the great redd Box" and 42 other boxes (ff. 337-344); accounts of "Cignetts and broodes" and swans marked, for 1614, 1615, 1616 and 1618 (f. 345r,v); lists of "Rentes in provision", rents "not yet in provision", rents "charged beside provision upon statute", and London rents (ff. 346-348r; a memorandum of the receipt of the manorial records of Graveley (f. 348v); a list of medieval deeds of the nunnery, in several 17C hands (ff. 349-351v); and inside the back cover some notes headed "Fundatores".

Alphabetical list of members with brief biographical details (preceded by a note about its composition and guide to abbreviations used); in Freddy Brittain's hand but with later additions by Muriel Brittain. There follow lists of those who matriculated in 1849 or 1859, and of those from before 1849 who were in residence later. The volume also contains: copies of the Statutes of 1841 and 1861; names of incumbents of College livings since 1849; extracts from Cooper's Annals of Cambridge for 1850-56; extracts from the Report of the Royal Commission of 1852; biographies of Jesus men who were Fellows in 1849, ex-Fellows in 1849, and those otherwise especially notable from the second half of the 19C; and finally brief notes about rowing, covering 1849-70. On p. 231 is a pasted-in Who's Who entry for historian Herbert G. Wood, with a note about his death in 1963; at p. 240 are two newscuttings of obituaries for Sir Owen Beasley and Col. B. C. Hartley (both d. 1960). There is a flyleaf contents list.

Contains: Rustat statutes, 1671 (17 pp.); interpretation of the statutes by King Charles II, 1672 (4 pp.); register of admissions of Rustat Scholars, 1671-1819. At the end of the book is a register of leaves of absence granted from 4 June 1715 to 22 December 1744.

Correspondence about the sale of land to the Clergy Training School and negotiations for the sale to the Borough Council of a piece of frontage to widen the road in front of All Saints Church and Westcott House. Also a page from the parish magazine showing the eight houses known as the 'Barracks'

The first college history, with the full title: "Aborigines Jesuani sive Historia Collegii Jesu Adornata Studio Joannis Sherman Collegii Presidentis, Coll. Regin. Alumni." Includes a coloured frontispiece, the college arms, and text in an elaborate italic hand, gradually degenerating into a mixed hand. The last date in the original hand is 1666, except for Sherman's epitaph of 1671. Some of the lists of Fellows are brought down to 1746 by other hands.

The first surviving lease is dated 1869 and granted 3 messuages, including 1 called 'Great Northern Hotel' to Arthur John Gray. In 1896 the lease was granted to Charles Edward Gray and the plan shows the Great Northern Hotel was the property between 57 Hills Road and 1 Station Road. In 1926 the lease was granted to Messrs Worthington & Co
