Correspondence with enclosed receipts between B.L. Manning, Bursar of Jesus College, and Mr. Clark, tenant responsible for the repairs of Lubbing's farm, Canvey Island. Mr Clark demands reinbursement for repairs to the buildings and brickwork on the property, including land tax and wall rate, enclosing receipts (20th October 1921). The Bursar points out that such repairs have not been communicated to college beforehand and asks for further clarification (29th October 1921). Clark affirms that he has always "enjoyed the confidence of the College Bursars" and that therefore he deemed superfluous to ask for permission, as he has "always been allowed the cost of the work out of the rent". He suggests meeting in Cambridge on 16th November 1921 to discuss the matter (8th November 1921). The Bursar accepts but still reiterates the necessity to acquire college consent in advance of undertaking repairs, enclosing 1920 accounts and receipts as an example (11th November 1921).

Correspondence and plans concerning the renewal of leases in Lower Park Street:
(1) 13th October 1877 - letter from the Bursar setting out the terms for the renewal of the lease for Nos. 29-34 plus a site plan showing the outlines of the properties, the dimensions and the right of way in common to all of these properties
(2) 4th and 5th December 1878 - letters from Samuel R. Ginn (solicitor) to Francis, Riches & Riches explaining the legal position of the leases for Nos. 35 and 36. These were part of a marriage settlement between Ann Smith and John Turner (the trustees were James Mason and Francis Edward Dodds) and included in the will of Ann Turner and later John Turner under which his second wife Mary Turner had made a claim. Reply from Francis, Riches & Riches dated 11th February 1879 and a site plan showing the outline of the two houses and the dimensions
(3) 20th October 1879 – 7th January 1880 - 6 letters between John Smith (son of Ann Turner nee Smith) and Francis & Francis about renewing the lease for Nos. 41-44 Park Street. These properties were part of a marriage settlement between Ann Smith and John Turner. Ann Turner willed them to John Turner for his lifetime and then they passed to her son John Smith. The leases had been drawn up in the names of the trustees named in the marriage settlement (James Mason and Francis Edward Dodd) as John Smith was a minor when he inherited them. The matter was further complicated by the fact they had never been part of a separate lease but were part of a lease of 12 houses held by his step-father. Francis & Francis wanted proof of his claim as there was no assignment to him from the trustees. John Smith explains that one of the trustees (Francis Edward Dodd) was dead and requested a meeting to discuss the matter. Also included is a site plan of the properties showing the outlines and dimensions and two copies of the death certificate of Francis Edward Dodd
