Five receipts relating to tithes, taxes and maintenance work required by Edward Colchester, dating between April and October 1880. Including three receipts for tithe rent charges owed paid to New College, Oxford, for amounts of £4 7s 6d, £3 14s 6d and 13s; a receipt for income tax paid by Colchester while residing in Steeple Morden, amounting to 18s 9d. Also includes a bill for repairs to cottages at Steeple Morden, ordered by Colchester, including: new lead guttering, scantling for rafters, board, plate tiles, bushels of hair, mortex, nails, glass panes and two and half days of labour, amounting to £3 1s 6d, signed and settled by William Worboys.
