Letter from V. C. Radmore, H. M. of Works to Bernard Manning (Bursar) encouraging the College to let them have possession of the property immediately for an Unemployment Assistance Board, and then work out the terms of an Agreement

Agreement to pay increase in rent as follows:
"In consideration of the College agreeing to enlarge the yard at the back of my House and providing me with a new Coal Cellar and improving the existing W. C. I the undersigned [Arthur F. Bush] agree to undertake to pay an increased rent at the rate of two pounds (£2) per annum as from Christmas next"

Letter from the Bursar to H. M. Inspector of Taxes confirming that on the expiry of the lease on No. 10 at Ladyday 1934 the property was let to Mrs South. The yard and building at the back fronting Elm Street was let to Mt. T. W. Neech.

Letter from J. H. H. Goodwin (Bursar) to "Madam" [possibly Margaret Sancroft who held a lease in 1880] offering her a new lease for 40 years from 6 April 1902.

Three letters concerning Nos. 126-130 Tenison Road:

(1) 14th January 1946 - from Ernest Lloyd to the Bursar asking him to reconsider the College's decision not to allow the purchaser (Mr Ridgeon, seed merchant) to occupy the premises. He explains that Mr G. C. Bedwell of Hills Road left the properties to his children and his eldest daughter was entirely dependent on the rent. She had already lost two quarters rent due to the College's decision

(2) 17th January 1946 - from Ernest Lloyd to the Bursar thanking him for his phone call and confirming he had contacted their Agents, Messrs R. C. Knight & Sons, and asked them to forward the particulars of the properties to the College

(3) The particulars giving a detailed description of the property

Letter from Francis & Co to the Bursar informing him they had dealt with an assignment of No. 13. Mr Frederick George Jenkins (personal representative of Katharine Jenkins, late of No. 13 New Square) had given his assent to the assignment of the lease to Marion Hannah Lancaster.

1. From Henry John Whitehead (solicitor) to Francis, Francis and Parker (solicitor), dated 17th September 1887. States that Mrs Chapman has instructed him to accept the offer of a new lease of Woodstock Villa and St Mary's Villas (currently held under lease dated 27th March 1874) and setting out the terms for the new lease

2. From Henry John Whitehead to Francis, Francis and Parker, dated 13th February 1888. Returns the draft lease with an alteration allowing lettings of the houses as per the original lease

3. Plan of the properties showing extent of property and the names of the neighbouring leaseholders

Letter from J. F. Symonds & Leather, on behalf of Miss Kett, to Francis & Co complaining that 16 Station Road was being used a lodging house contrary to the terms of the leases for 16 & 18 Station Road and asking them to stand by the terms of the lease

1 September 1941 - Letter from J. Carter Jonas & Sons to the Bursar informing him the wall between Nos. 17 and 18 had fallen down and confirming the wall belonged to No. 18

3 April 1945 - letter from J. Carter Jonas & Sons to the Bursar informing him that after an inspection they had drawn up a list of dilapidations amounting to £87 2. 6d. but stating much more needed to be done on the property before re letting to Mr Baker as no work had been done for a number of years. Mr Baker had also requested that the house should be wired for electric lighting.

Letter from the Bursar to J. Carter Jonas & Sons informing them of a change of tenancy from Mrs King to Captain Holmes and asking for them to arrange to have the house de-requisitioned

Consists of 2 letters from J. Carter Jonas & Sons (Land Agents) to the Bursar: (1) stating that Miss Kett had been granted an abatement in the rent of £5 owing to war conditions and asking this be extended as conditions were worse than during the war and much inconvenience had been experienced owing to the houses on both sides having been requisitioned; (2) presenting an account from Mr F. Andrews for work done and giving details about tree roots causing drains to be blocked at 18 Station Road

Letter from Hugh Shield (Bursar) to the Executors of Henry Chapman offering them a new lease of Gordon and Cleveland Villas for 40 years from 25th September 1889 on payment of a fine of £205 6s 3d (to include solicitor's and surveyor's charges, stamps and all expenses). New rent to be set at £26 8s pa for the first 26 years and £31 5s pa for the last 14 years. Attached is a plan showing the size of the properties and the names of the neighbouring leaseholders

Consists of 2 letters to the Bursar: (1) from J. Carter Jonas & Sons (Land Agents) about renewing the lease to the Ministry of Works for a rent of £85 pa (2) concerning failed attempts to trace the lessee Mrs Websdale in order to get dilapidations at the end of the lease on 25th December. They had traced the guarantor Mrs Paues

Letter dated 8th January 1947 from the Bursar C. H. Wilson to the Director of Lands & Accommodation expressing concern that the tenancy of the property was still with the Ministry of Works and asking when it would be returned to College ownership as the agreement for occupation was for the war years only and the college needed the property for accommodation and rent revenue. Letter dated 14th January 1947 from the Ministry of Works, Eastern Region stating that they had taken a tenancy of the property from the College's tenant Miss Paues's in 1936 and then agreed another tenancy in 1943 when Miss Paues's tenancy ended. He also states that the Ministry had no vacant space in Cambridge and so needed this property and would be unable to return it to the College
