Biographical history
McCrae was an undergraduate at Jesus between 1953 and 1956. Whilst a student he was an illustrator on Varsity, Light Blue, Chanticlere, A year's purchase and Visa magazines. McCrae went on to use his drawing abilities when undertaking his later entomological work in Africa.

Four copies of 'Light Blue', three copies of 'Visa', two copies of 'Chanticlere' and two copies of 'a year's purchase' magazines showing McCrae's work.
Three scrapbooks containing newspaper cuttings from papers in which McCrae's work appeared.
Very few original drawings (presumably as originals were submitted to publications), although original drawings of Ian Ball (Jesus College rowing blue) and Mr. A. H. N. Molesworth.
