Scope and content
Correspondence: the file begins with an undated statement, endorsed "Caley", of the difficulties of finding evidence about the endowment. Then follows a testimonial to the good character of Matthew Halls, a tenant farmer of the parish. Then there is a long series of letters from the Vicar, Thomas P. Foley, to the College about the tithes, running from 26 April 1796 to 9 October 1800. There are two letters from the Bishop of Gloucester (Richard Beadon), as a Trustee of the estate, and a few from other trustees or legal advisers, W. Dickenson, Mr Jenkin, Mr Sandys, also some from the tenant Matthew Halls, and other tenants.
