Scope and content
Circular sent to William French from King's College. On 7th June a complaint was lodged against an undergraduate who had just obtained his exeat from the Tutor and Dean of his College. The vice-chancellor, however, was informed that the student had a serious charge against him. The following morning the Proctor was informed at the lodgings of the student that he had left Cambridge for the day but that he would return in the evening. He then saw the vice-chancellor the following morning and was told of the nature of the complaint against him. The Proctor then expected the student to attend a congregation, but the vice-chancellor allowed the student to leave the university before the congregation took place. The Proctor asked the student to return but he said he wouldn't until October.
