Robert James Younger was born in 17 November 1868 in Edinburgh. He attended Edinburgh Academy and came up to Jesus College in 1888. He became a brewer in Edinburgh and also lived in Mansfield, Callander, Perthshire, and Thriplow near Royston in 1946. He died on 8 August 1964 in Scotland.

Born 29 April 1950 in London and attended Shrewsbury School starting 1963. He studied classics and education at Jesus College in 1968. He ended up working in education. Rowed number 4 and bow for Jesus College Boat Club in the 1960s and 1970s. Later became a coach.
