Receipts for Tile and Stonework

Series of 3 receipts for work carried out by D.O. Boyd, engineer (9 Conduit St, London).

First receipt covers a terracotta gas stove fitted with speicial air and gas burner, including packing and booking; a Boyd's Gothic College Grate, fitted in dining room of Master's Lodge with blue and white majolica tiles, also taking up stone hearth, preparing for and laying glazed tile hearth. Total cost £29 1s, dated 29/11/1875. Work carried out between March and September 1875.

Second receipt covers 3 earthenware Himalaya chimmney funnels. Total cost £4 10s, dated 3/12/1875. Funnels installed in March 1875.

Third receipt covers 2 Boyd's Gothic College Grates with best Stourbridge firelumps and improved register doors, also glazed tiles and elements provided for same; taking out the old grates, preparing openings, laying iron back hearths, fixing and tiling grates; cutting away brickwork, crampimg in old grate, contracting flues and making good round the chimneypiece; cutting away brickwork and cleaning out flues in the chapel. Includes skilled workmen's time, railway and lodging expenses. Total cost £15 10s. Worked carried out in January 1874.
