The sculling tub. A long wharf is built out into the water from the boathouse, and this is attached to the wharf, pointed in towards the shore. The sculls are cut away in the centre rather too much, I think.

A letter from Benjamin B. Thelin, a former member of the 1948 crew, to Percy, expressing how sorry he is to hear of his retirement. He reminisces about Princeton winning at the Royal Henley Regatta and how their coxwain was able to lift their shell by himself. He also remembers celebrating at the Armistice Inn with Chris Barton and his Jesus College colleagues when winning in the Grand Challenge Cup. He closes the letter expressing how much his support and concern will be missed.
