Renewal of Lease

Letter from Hugh Shield (Bursar) to Mr Alfred Dale offering him a new lease for 40 years from 9th May 1900. Also a site plan showing the outline of the property including dimensions and the names of neighbouring lessees

Renewal of Lease of Nos. 17 and 18 Park Street

(1) Notes made by Arthur Westmorland (Bursar) about the fine and date for renewal of the leases in 1858 and 1872

(2) 1st November 1878 letter from Samuel R. Ginn [solicitor acting for Mary Turner] to Francis, Riches & Frances [College Solicitor], saying that he understands that a new lease has been proposed by Charles Thrift Green. He informs them that the lease was made out to John Turner for 40 years from 29th September 1844 which was bequeathed to Mary Turner. In 1873 Mary Turner obtained a licence to underlet No. 18 to C. J. Green for the remainder of the term minus 1 day. Negotiations between Mary Turner and Mr Green had been going on but there was no written agreement so he asked them to delay proceeding with the renewal of the lease
